Questions and answers
- Do I need an account?
- No. Search, judge profiles and court pages are free and need no sign-in.
- Where does the information come from?
- From CourtListener, a project of the non-profit Free Law Project, and related public court records. JudgeFinder is not affiliated with CourtListener, Free Law Project, any court or any government agency.
- Is this legal advice?
- No. JudgeFinder shows public docket metadata. The counts on a profile are numbers of docket records in this index. They are not a ruling analysis, a rating or a prediction. Check the original court records before you rely on anything here.
- A profile looks wrong or out of date. What do I do?
- Open the profile and choose Report a profile issue. Say what is wrong and what you expected. You can also email us. Corrections are checked against public sources, and replies are best effort.
- A judge or court is missing.
- This index does not include every court or judge. Email us the name and court and we will check the source data.
- How current is the data?
- Every profile shows the date its case data was last refreshed. Court records can lag the courts themselves.
- What do you collect about me?
- No account is needed and we do not run advertising or tracking scripts. The privacy page lists exactly what the website and its hosting keep.
