JudgeFinder / independent docket indexData sources

Where the records come from

Every profile names its source, says what the numbers are, and shows the date the data was refreshed.

Source

Judge, court and docket records come from CourtListener, a project of the non-profit Free Law Project, and related public court records. JudgeFinder is independent. It is not affiliated with CourtListener, Free Law Project, any court or any government agency.

What a profile shows

  • The judge's name, court, jurisdiction and judge type, when the source has them.
  • How many docket entries in this index are linked to the judge, grouped by filing year.
  • Case types as the docket data labels them. Categories can overlap.
  • Recent docket numbers with filing dates. Case captions are withheld because they can name sensitive parties.
  • The date the case data was last refreshed, and a way to report an error.

Coverage

As of the archive checked on 2026-09-27, the index holds 3,461 federal judges, 270 courts (205 federal and 65 California state courts) and 312,177 case records filed from 2018 through 2025. No state court has linked judges yet. Filings after 2025 are not included until they are refreshed. These are dated counts, not a promise of complete coverage.

What it does not claim

  • A docket count is not how a judge rules. There are no bias scores, ratings or outcome predictions.
  • It is not an official roster. A listing means a name appears in the data. It does not confirm a current appointment.
  • It has no direct PACER connection. Federal dockets arrive through CourtListener.
  • Names can be matched to the wrong person, and records can lag the courts.

Corrections and removal

Open a profile and choose Report a profile issue, or email tanner@meshvault.ai with the judge, the court and a source document if you have one. We check reports against public sources.

Money and editorial

Judge and court pages carry no advertising and no paid placement. Paid attorney listings live on their own page and never affect judge records or search order. See the attorney directory.
